Greetings from Hwaii!
Who is Kimi? Kimi refers to Ryozo Kimihira, native of Japan living in Honolulu.
Everybody, including Americans and Japanese calls him "Kimi" as a nickname.
An advocate of casual business wear
Ryozo 'Kimi' Kimihira was born in 1938 and was in the first grade at an elementary school in Tokyo when the US B-29s began an air-raid on the city.
To this day, he clearly remembers what went on during the World WarII in Japan.
Kimi was a science-oriented kid and was the youngest amateur radio operator (HAM) in 1954 (call sign JA1LJ). He later attended the Tokyo Institute of Technology -- the Japanese version of MIT.
Kimi majored in electric engineering and earned BA, MA, and PhD degrees. Kimi hated working for big established companies so worked for a small company named Akai because the founder Saburo Akai was a very admired person.
In 1972 Kimi moved to Los Angeles to work for Akai America. While Kimi there, Kimi attended UCLA business school and received an MBA degree.
Unfortunately, Saburo Akai passed away at a ski resort due to heart attach at age 58 and Kimi started his own business: Kimihira & Taylor Associates, Inc. in Los Angeles. He was actively involved in many business ventures across the Pacific Ocean.
Kimi moved to Hawaii in 2006 as a place for retirement but did not stay on Oahu Island due to his active nature.
Kimi helped many venture companies both in the US and Japan, then formed Japan Representitive Network, LLC (JRN) together with three other partners.
JRN is a nationwide manufactures' rep organization which represents small-to-medium size companies who have good technology but no sales network. JRN currently has 70 contracted reps throughout Japan. Also, he started consulting work for businesses between Japan and China. In 2012, Kimi went to Morocco with his wife and discovered Aragan Oil, which is natural skin care oil. Kimi's wife loved Aragan Oil so he started to import the product to Japan.
Today, Kimi is an active business consultant specializing in international business relations and is active between Japan, the US, China, and Morocco.
Kimi also has authored several books in Japanese; the titles range from 'How to Effectively Use A Consultant', 'Business English', 'Doing Business in US', and 'Active Life for 60 Year Olds.'
In the past few years, Kimi became interested in history, especially the history of Japanese wars. He has discovered many facts which should be understood by Americans -- not only to understand what happened in the past -- but also to understand the Japanese culture and have good relations with Japan today.
