Membership Plan Upgrades and Downgrades
You can adjust your Kimi membership plan at any time as needed. Here’s how upgrades and downgrades work.
How is the price difference calculated for an upgrade?
- When upgrading, you need to pay the full monthly fee for the new plan.
- The system will calculate the remaining value of your current plan on a daily basis and issue a prorated refund.
- Formula: Price-difference refund = old plan monthly fee − prorated amount for days already used on the original plan
- Upgrades take effect immediately, and the credits for the new plan become available right away.
- Credits already used under the original plan do not affect the new plan’s credits, which are recalculated from scratch.
Subscribed to the wrong plan and want to upgrade or downgrade?
Upgrade your plan:
- Go to “Settings → Subscription”.
- Select a higher-tier plan and click “Upgrade”.
- The system automatically calculates the price difference and completes the payment. The upgrade takes effect immediately.
Downgrade your plan:
Downgrades cannot be performed directly. You need to cancel your current subscription first, wait until the current billing cycle ends, and then subscribe again to a lower-tier plan.
Steps:
- Cancel your current auto-renewal (see the “Cancel Auto-Renewal” document).
- After your current subscription expires, your membership benefits will automatically end.
- Go to the subscription page and select a new lower-tier plan to subscribe.
What if I can’t upgrade?
If you can’t find the upgrade entry in Kimi or the upgrade fails, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
Subscribed through another channel: If you subscribed through Apple App Store or another third-party channel, you need to manage your subscription through that channel.
- Payment method issue: Check whether your linked payment method is available.
- System issue: Try logging out and logging back in, or contact [email protected] for help.
